Trend or Fad, There is Value in the Difference

The Markle Sparkle effect has hit the yellow gold jewelry market. But is it a lasting trend or passing fad to align marketing around? Meghan Markle, former actress, current Duchess of Sussex, newly wed to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has shown a decided public interest in yellow gold. In fact, the couple told the BBC in November that because yellow gold was her favorite, her engagement ring would be set in that metal. And the world responded. David Borochov, of New York-based R&R Jewelers has been quoted (in a Reuters article posted by CNBC) as saying that around that

157 New Emojis to be Released June 5th

Nestled between written content and video in the social media universe, exists a strange group of figures called emojis.  These are small digital images used to express an idea or communicate a message playfully (or sarcastically) without using words. You’ve seen them. Happy face. Sad face. Today, 157 new emojis join the existing universe that you can already find on your computer and cell phone. June 5, 1947 – U.S. Secretary of State George C. Marshall outlines “The Marshall Plan,” a program intended to assist European nations, including

When it is the premiere global showcase of trade shows, known as JCK Las Vegas, running June 1-4 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. But there is something greater than prestige that elevates JCK above other jewelry trade shows— its grant program. Burger King Grills Customers on Ingredients

Taking it to the extreme, Burger King recently decided to let its customers revive a slogan eliminated four years ago from the brand and “have it your way.” Well not exactly revive the slogan but in Spain, Burger King’s Instagram fans were grilled on what the ideal Whopper would be like for them. Interesting marketing move to use Instagram, not traditional newspapers or broadcast media. In 2014, BK dropped the 40-year slogan “Have It Your Way” because it was overly focused “only on the purchase — the ability to customize a burger.” The switch to “Be Your Way” was to better

20 Reasons to Start Using Social Media Review Sites

From Vancouver in Canada to Venice in Florida and from Prince Edward Island to Catalina Island, there are dinosaurs. Not the type in Jurassic Park, but the type of businesses that erroneously hold to the fallacy that social media is something best relegated to kids. According to the Pew Research Center “Today around seven-in-ten Americans use social media to connect with one another, engage with news content, share information and entertain themselves.” They are also writing and reading items on review sites. So, what is holding you back from joining the 21st century? Fear that customers and non-customers would say
